![]() ![]() Security was non existent in this area and when we asked why we were told that spectators didn’t interfere with players at that level so it didn’t matter. This was incredibly distracting and hugely detracted from the tennis being played. The biggest one is allowing fans to move around freely during points in the upper seating area in Arthur Ashe. The venue is amazing and most definitely worth a visit but there were quite a few areas where we thought improvements could be made. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary in NYC as we are avid tennis fans who had the US Open on our bucket list. Having visited many tennis tournaments around the world I was looking forward to this one big time. One should be prepared to park in a lot or on a nearby street it is also possible to take a subway. The park is also nice to walk around, because one can see quite a few destinations (like the Unisphere and the fountains) other than Arthur Ashe Stadium. Thus, people should give themselves quite a bit of time to arrive before the game. The security line during the pandemic to enter was very long and inefficient, and in my opinion, it was very poorly run. There are good views in the stadium even from higher up. ![]() ![]() These tennis professionals really have a lot of endurance! I always buy T-shirts, and I sometimes buy foods and drinks despite the prices being steep, in my belief. I love the chance to watch tennis champions play aggressive and competitive games. I have always met fans from all over the place, and this is definitely a dream event for someone who either plays tennis or for anyone who is heavily interested in it. The admission prices vary based on when the game is scheduled. Open tournaments from 2006 to the present. There is a small cafe.Ī very disappointing afternoon for two life long Queens residents.I went to many U.S. There is a gift shop with many Worlds Fair collectibles and some really nice baseball caps highlighting Queens-but not for $30. Surely they pay big bucks to people on their advisory board who could make this exhibit space something more than an Indian gallery and 2 small exhibit galleries and an aoutdated Panorama. We were hoping for photos, maps, etc but nope, it's on collectibles.Ī QUEENS MUSEUM should celebrate Queens-all of it Or at least have art from or depicting Queens. There is also a small exhibit about Tiffany glass and another small exhibit about the last two world' s fairs but primarily about collectibles. One large exhibit on India? Don't think that's very diverse. Diversity in Queens means Indian and Chinese and Dominican and Nepalese and Italian and Greek etc etc. I asked the girl at the desk and she said its to promote diversity. Lots of painting and photographs and other things about India. The other half of the museum has a display about India. In the archives and not available to the public. The sign says that the walkway follows the route of the old helicopter ride (you remember that from the '64 fair) and it said that they had once of the helicopters used during the display on view. Oddly, there are video presentations around on the walls, but they have nothing to do with the Panorama. Still impressive but a big disappointment from what it was. The hall doesn't darken any longer and there is no narration. There are supposed to be lights to show municipal services-some 3000+. Surely the can find the money to put on some new stick on letters. The directional signs on the exhibit have the letters scratched off. Lots of famous landmarks are either not there or are still there. The NYC Panorama is still there.always a crowd pleaser and a memory from the World's fair. We were hoping to see a museum about Queens or Art from Queens. The admission fee is suggested at $8 and seniors at $4. Last time I was there there was still an ice skating rink. I haven't visited the Queens Museum in about 15 years. ![]()
